Alaska Road Trip
From Fjords to the Arctic Circle
This solo road trip through Alaska was a journey across some of the wildest and most breathtaking landscapes in North America. Starting in Anchorage, I set out for Kenai Fjords National Park, where glaciers meet the sea and wildlife thrives along the rugged coast.
From there, I drove to Homer, a charming fishing town at the end of the Sterling Highway, before taking a short flight to the King Salmon River. Here, I spent unforgettable moments watching brown bears catching bright red sockeye salmon in the rushing waters — a true Alaskan spectacle.
Back on the road, I continued to Palmer and then into Denali State Park, where towering peaks and sweeping valleys revealed Alaska’s vast scale. After reaching Fairbanks, I pushed further north to Coldfoot, crossing slightly above the Arctic Circle — a milestone on the legendary Dalton Highway.
On the return south, I stopped in North Pole (yes, it’s a real town!), then followed the route along the Copper River to Chitina and finally to Valdez, surrounded by waterfalls and steep mountains dropping into the sea.
This road trip was a journey of extremes — from coastal fjords to Arctic tundra, from watching bears fish for salmon to standing beneath endless northern skies. Every mile brought a new scene, a new story, and a photograph waiting to be taken.
