Southern Namibia
Southern Namibia
December 2017, we explored southern Namibia on a self-drive 4x4 road trip. Starting from Windhoek, we headed south to Solitaire, a dusty outpost that felt like the edge of the world.
At Sossusvlei, we watched the sun rise from a hot air balloon, the Namib Desert glowing in shades of gold and red beneath us. Later, we walked among the haunting trees of Deadvlei, their black silhouettes frozen in time against the cracked white clay.
Driving west, we reached Lüderitz and wandered through Kolmanskop, the abandoned diamond town slowly vanishing into the sand.
Further south, Fish River Canyon stunned us with its immensity, and the quiver trees near Aroab lit up the evening sky before we ended our journey in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, where red dunes and wildlife made for a perfect finale.
